FIRE STRIKES FRALINGER STRING BAND PROP WAREHOUSE ON December 10, 2012
On Monday, December 10, 2012, a tragic fire struck the South Philadelphia facility where the Fralinger String Band has been building and storing its props for their performance in the upcoming New Year’s Day Mummers Parade. Prop building began months ago, and hundreds, if not thousands, of man-hours have been spent. The Fralinger band was founded in 1915 and is one of the oldest and winningest bands in Mummers’ history, winning 8 consecutive first prizes between 2003 and 2010. Fralinger helps out with people and organizations in need all the time, most recently in a fund raiser for victims of Hurricane Sandy. Now we need YOUR HELP!
